Jou Nielsen is a Barcelona-based DJ and producer known for his emotional and narrative approach to progressive house and melodic techno. With over a decade of experience in the underground electronic music scene, his sound blends musical depth, progressive tension and dancefloor energy, shaping sets and productions designed for both club environments and more expansive, atmospheric contexts.

Over recent years, Jou has built a solid international trajectory, performing across Europe, Russia and Asia, with recent tours in India and Thailand. His performances include renowned venues and festivals such as Gazgolder Moscow, Nikki Beach, Salud Goa, Bambu Huts, Escobar Festival, Mayan Beach Club, Hollystone, Opium Barcelona, Plombir Fabrique Festival, and the iconic Full Moon Festival in Koh Phangan, among many others.

As a producer, Jou has released music on respected international labels including Univack, Hollystone and Area Verde. His work has achieved multiple Top 10 positions on Beatport, including a #1 Progressive House Release with his Mentalism EP. His sound has received support from key artists within the progressive and melodic circuit.

Looking ahead to 2026, Jou has several major releases already scheduled: an EP on Hollystone, two EPs on Univack — one of them in collaboration with 84 Avenue — and a remix EP led by Durante (Anjunadeep), alongside other artists to be confirmed.
Additional releases on labels such as Amulanga and Stripped Digital further consolidate his position within the international electronic music landscape.

Jou’s DJ sets are defined by careful dancefloor reading, long-form progressive storytelling and a strong emotional connection with the audience. His adaptability allows him to fit naturally into clubs, festivals, open-air events and label showcases, while maintaining a clear and consistent artistic identity.

Alongside his artistic career, Jou works full-time as a Music Production teacher in Barcelona, integrating masterclasses into his international tours and collaborating with institutions such as Resonance School (St. Petersburg) and Reset Networks (New Delhi).

Throughout his career, he has shared the booth with artists including N1RVAAN, Alexey Sonar, Claptone, Vakabular, Ilias Katelanos, Borey, Just Emma, Socko, and Natasha Wax & Sony Vibe, among others.

Currently, Jou Nielsen is planning his first solid Latin American tour, with a strong focus on Argentina, seeking collaborations with promoters and venues aligned with a long-term, curated and artistdriven musical vision.
