Three decades of life are reflected time and again in his mixing style. A blend of musical influences he was exposed to from childhood makes Fernando Salazar, aka Fercho, one of the most well-rounded DJs on Costa Rica’s electronic music scene today.
During his teenage years, he explored a phase as a drummer and percussionist, instilling in him a deep love for creating infectious rhythms that get the dance floor moving.
In 2015, he formally began his career as a DJ, and by 2018, he had established himself as one of the most active figures in the underground scene. With a distinctive sound that fuses Indie Dance, Melodic Techno, and Afro House, he has earned a spot at major festivals and venues such as OCASO Festival, Envision Festival, Antik, and Club Vértigo.
His music has also traveled beyond national borders, with him headlining in countries like Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Mexico. In April 2024, he released his debut single “More Action” alongside Black Drumz & MATAHARI MUSIC through the Mexican label SATELITE RECORDS, marking an important milestone in his burgeoning career, which took a new direction following his inclusion in Wizzard’s Collective, a Latin American group of DJs with a unique vision of music and the profession. In addition, he has opened for artists such as Claptone and Boris Brejcha, among many others.
Fercho is currently on his second full-length international tour of Europe and Latin America, further solidifying his artistic growth and expanding his musical style to new audiences around the world. Without a doubt, his presence leaves an indelible mark wherever he goes.
